Here are some of my Winter photography of my garden, covered in ice and snow...

Most of these are from the big ice storm 1/12/07 through 1/14/2007 We have had freezing rain every night for days.   Everything is coated in thick layers of ice, as I was outside taking these photos, you could hear the branches cracking from the weight.  Big chunks of ice were falling off of my big Pin Oak tree, I didn't dare venture beneath it.  Many in our area suffered massive damage from the weight of the ice breaking trees, roofs and power lines.  We were fortunate not to have any damage at my home, but we hope not to have this much ice this year!

This Snow Goddess was built about a week before the Winter Solstice 2006.  We put bird seed in her arms to feed the wintering birds.

This is the top of the arbor that welcomes guests to my home.

A few mums in my little garden alcove covered in ice.

I don't know if this bloom is early or late.  I noticed this pansy blooming before the ice storm hit, now it is preserved in ice.  A few of my old paint brushes decorate this planter.

My raven plant hanger, barren of flowers, dripping with a frozen covering.

A garden faerie takes her icy winter sleep.

The leaves of my oak tree twist in the direction the wind was blowing them as ice covered the land.

More evidence of the unseasonably warm weather that proceeded the ice storm.  Note the interesting patterns in the ice.

A gargoyle that guards my front door from his icy perch in a hanging pot.

All the lights on my arbor are covered in ice which melted as evening comes and the lights came on.
