"Flight of the Pumpkin Faerie"
11" x 14" Watercolor and Berol Prismacolor Pencils The pumkins are ripe and ready to harvest and the pumpkin faerie is blazing across the pumkin patch joyously admiring the big bountiful orbs that glow like the harvest moon in the twilight. It is said that the people of the fae sometimes imitate what they have seen beings of the human world doing. This vivacious sprite is imitating a witch flying upon a broom as she rides atop a wildflower found in the nearby field. Witches and faeries are often associated in tales and legends, and she seems facinated by the concept. The question is, what has she seen to inspire her play acting? Is it the halloween decorations she has seen adorning the nearby homes? Or perhaps, since she dwells in the world of the fae, she has seen a modern witch in meditation during astral projection while visualising a broom ride! We may never know for certain, but we may join her anyway on her inspection of the soon to be harvested pumpkins!
